What will your regrets be?

Here is an extract from our new book, Success In Business that every business should read:
Former palliative care nurse Bronnie Ware published her research findings on the top five regrets of the dying who she’d interviewed in the final stages of their lives. They are:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Most people would agree that the standard modern working life is responsible for a good part of this list, so you may perhaps consider the importance of marrying your interests, your passions and skills into your business venture. In this case, the question of deeper purpose in business begs. Assuming you have become accountable enough to recognise and work through your Scroogeness, what is the true reason then, that you are venturing into business at all? This question is all-important because without conviction around why you’re doing what you’re doing you will either become miserable or emotionally void in your role.
